Kaye Anstey Inspiration Award
Always in our hearts.
“YNF Australia has the “Kaye Anstey Inspiration Award” which we award to a Body Transformation competitor or possibly a competitor of judges choice.
Kaye Anstey was an amazing woman and figure competitor, competing in numerous competitions.
Kaye was married to Chad, the love of her life, for over 20 years. She was a loving mother and so proud of her two boys, Max and Zac.
In February 2020 Kaye was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, a rapid form of brain cancer, but this did not stop Kaye from training at the gym. After being diagnosed, Kaye decided she wanted to step on stage and compete one more time.
After having neurosurgery she went on to have Chemotherapy and Radiology. During this time Kaye never stopped training at the gym, she called it her “Happy place “. Going through all of this, Kaye still kept pursuing her comp prep with the support of her coach, family and friends.
I personally knew Kaye for a few years, as her posing coach, but she became my friend. Even after her diagnoses, we always had a good laugh in class. She never complained, she was always positive, bright and bubbly. (That was Kaye to a T). Her saying was, “It is what it is”.
Kaye turned up on comp day, feeling weak, but she stood on the stage and did what she set out to do. She was remarkable. That day we presented Kaye with an Inspiration Award. I feel blessed to have been part of Kaye’s journey to step on the stage one more time.
Kaye passed away at home a few weeks after the show with all her family around her.
We dedicated the following show in memory of Kaye, and the Kaye Anstey Inspiration Award was created. Presented by Chad and Kaye’s boys.
We feel privileged to have known this incredible woman, as do many, and our way to show her how much we admire and love her is to create the ‘Kaye Anstey Inspiration Award’ in her honor.”
