“I grew up with the most incredible influence, my Dad, who had a multitude of muscle mags and books. I would turn the pages in absolute awe and admiration of the beautiful women and men showcasing their dedication and commitment to sculpting their bodies. I would follow my mom, dad and older brother to the gym and fondly recall watching them as fitness was a central part of our family lifestyle. I even witnessed my brother preparing for a contest with that undeniable and unwavering dedication. It was not until I moved to Australia that it decided to enter a bodybuilding contest. That first show was in 2013, and it set the wheels in motion for a few more shows. I had an extended break from the gym where I reignited my love for pool swimming and participated in other sports such as ocean swimming, water polo, cycling and surfing. After COVID lockdowns were starting to ease, and a diagnosis of an auto-immune disease called psoriatic arthritis, I stayed active and decided to enter the competitive world of bodybuilding again. After seeing Davinia get the Elite Athlete award at YNF’s first show, I had the dream of accomplishing this for myself as a Figure athlete. I honestly did not think I would ever get the honour, so the feeling when this did happen for me was incredibly wonderful and overwhelming. The ethos of YNF as an all natural competition is keeping true for me the wise words of my father, that performance enhancing drugs are not worth the trouble they cause.” – Jennifer Rollin-Busby
